Assembles pallets and crates, supplies workstations with raw materials removes finished products from the workstations and prepares them for shipping. Offloads gang saw, operate a forklift, automatic pallet assembler, miter saw, radial arm saw and other machines as required by production needs. Reports to the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager.


  1. Support the achievement of an individual’s personal outcomes.
  2. Assemble wooden pallets and crates using a pneumatic nail gun. or automatic pallet assembler. Assist with production and job set-up of the re-saw operation when needed.
  3. Safely operate a forklift and manual pallet jacks to move materials.
  4. Load and unload trucks of lumber and other materials. Some hand loading and unloading may be required.
  5. Supply on-load stations on the gang saw, notcher and chamfer machines with raw materials. Remove, count and band cut parts from the off-load stations of these saws and machines.
  6. Supply pallet assembly stations with cut parts. Remove finished pallets from workstations. Count, stack and band pallets for shipping.
  7. Assist Production Manager in arranging the lumber yard and production areas to efficiently use storage space.
  8. Assist in cleaning work area.
  9. Identify any safety issues related to the assigned task range and report them to the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager/Production Manager/Shift Manager.
  10. Physical and Manual dexterity to safely operate a forklift, pneumatic nail gun, gang saw, radial arm saw, automatic pallet.
  11. Must work effectively with individuals with mental disabilities.

The equivalent of a High School diploma with one-year full-time employment in production, manufacturing or sheltered workshop, or equivalent combination of experience and training gained through military service, Trade school. Act 33/34 Clearances are required.

Must work at the percentage of established norms. Within two weeks of hire must be working at 50% of the established norm. Within six weeks of hire must be working 90% to100% of the established norm.
