The Case Manager – Link Program Works with single women and families to help create a safe, healing environment in the Link Program at Renovo).  Provides advocacy around spiritual growth, referral services and support services to program guests. Work in partnership with other churches and service providers. Help build healthy support networks. Provide case management. Help create financial bench marks. Provide support for any housing barriers. Help create re-entry process into permanent housing. The Link Program Case Manager will be working out of two different locations ( Hope Place & Renovo      

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Be an informed expert in the field of homelessness in King County, particularly as related to relational dysfunction, life transformation, and trauma.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with local churches, schools, businesses, service agencies/providers and housing partners to ensure the best resources are available to the guests.
  • Provide and facilitate a guest environment that relationally shares with guests the full range of resources available to assist them in overcoming the conditions that cause homelessness to include resources for physical, mental and spiritual health.
  • Conduct assessment, intake and provide ongoing case management to guests interested in, and enrolled in the Link program
  • Manage and be available to volunteers as they assist guests in employment and career functions, housing, financial or their spiritual walk while in program.
  • Communicate with other WCM programs and other Mission Programs and staff, to ensure understanding of program, guest status and ability to utilize other services in the mission.
  • Manage units weekly to ensure clean and safe environment for all guests to include chores, community meetings, and UA’s.
  • Ensure a safe and dignified Guest Relations environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of guest interviews and meeting using the Clarity tracking system, bed list functions and statistical data required.
  • Provide and/or facilitate case management to help move the guest toward program benchmarks and goals.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships which will serve as a leadership example.  Share the gospel and disciple those guests who have accepted Christ.
  • Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization. All employees are expected to interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers.
  • Attend all mandatory Mission and department meetings and trainings.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications & Experience
  • AA degree or equivalent experience in related field required.
  • Prior experience in related field required.
  •  Work experience in rescue mission context highly preferred.
  • Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to:
    • Clean driving record
    • No current suspensions or revocations
    • At least 21 years of age.

 

Work Environment

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment.  Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding and talking on the telephone.  Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms.  Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the facility.  Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
