SUMMARY: In accordance with RNP's Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Policies and under the supervision of The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing staff and operations within the Recovery Network of Programs (RNP). This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care, evaluating and directing nursing employees, setting departmental goals, and establishing compliant healthcare policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision & Performance Evaluation:
    • Oversee nursing leadership and team performance across various programs, including KTC, CHS, First Step, N/P, Horizons, Bridgeport Correctional, and Solid Ground.
    • Supervise, assess, and evaluate all nursing staff to ensure efficient operation and adherence to high standards of care.
  2. Program Development & Expansion:
    • Assist in the implementation of new healthcare programs
    • Identify opportunities for organizational growth and develop innovative strategies for expanding services.
  3. Policy Development & Compliance:
    • Develop, assess, and implement new policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Regularly evaluate nursing practices to ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
  4. Liaison & Communication:
    • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, medical and psychiatric providers, and other departments to improve communication and streamline workflows.
    • Address issues promptly and facilitate resolutions through effective communication.
  5. Collaboration & Innovation:
    • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Identify issues within nursing practices and develop creative solutions to address them.
  6. Standard of Care & Nursing Practices:
    • Create and implement standard-of-care guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Oversee nursing practices and introduce changes aimed at improving service delivery.
  7. Goal Setting & Operational Excellence:
    • Develop short- and long-term goals for the nursing department, including staffing, procedural improvements, and enhanced patient care practices.
    • Continuously observe, analyze, and propose suggestions for improving nursing operations.
  8. Licensing & Compliance:
    • Assist with licensing, audits, and inspections, ensuring compliance with governing bodies such as DPH, DMHAS, DEA, SAMHSA, NCCHC and CARF.
    • Maintain high standards of care and continuously assess client services to ensure they meet all regulatory and organizational expectations.

Registered Nurse /Licensed Practical degree recognized in the State of Connecticut.

  • Previous experience in opiate treatment programming or similar community-based substance abuse treatment organization preferred.
  • Substantial specialized judgment and skill in observation, care and counsel of the ill.
  • Ability to assume initiative.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

Current State of Connecticut Nurse's License required. Valid Connecticut driver's license is required.
