As a Support Services Coordinator you will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing the daily operations of the SonRise house guest sleeping and community areas including Cleaning & Maintenance, chore management, bed list management, reporting, support of guest's needs, behaviors, and faith journey, The oversight of laundry facilities, stocking of supplies, guest sleeping areas and personal belongings. 

 

Schedule

 

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining inventory of cleaning/maintenance supplies, office supplies, clothing and hygiene needs, overnight shelter supplies, and furnishings.
  • General cleaning duties include cleaning and stocking common areas, bathrooms, staff workspaces, and resident living areas.
  • Manage chore requirements as staff, volunteers and guests perform chores, including incentive closet.
  • Contribute to the overall safety and maintenance of the buildings by filling out necessary maintenance request forms and reports and coordinating with the mission Facilities department.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships which will serve as a Leadership example for recovery program women.
  • Seattle's Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels of the organization. All staff is encouraged to assist in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers might serve in the organization. All employees are expected to interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers.
  • Receive, organize, inventory, and oversee the distribution of all gift-in-kind donations received.
  • Collaborate with Food Services staff and volunteer systems to ensure all meals are provided.
  • Hold guests accountable to program and individual goals and guidelines.
  • Attend community meetings and staffing meetings as required.
  • Provide setup and support for special events
  • Collaborate with staff regarding guests program and how to best support them
  • Contribute to the overall safety and maintenance of the buildings by maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Record events on the shift in the Facility Log.
  • Communicate daily with staff via email.
  • Be available to cover evening shifts and/or Sunday rotation shifts when needed
  • Complete data entry, and documents in Clarity.
  • Attend and participate in all Mission, Division, and Department meetings and training sessions, as required.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous Operations (janitorial/laundry) experience preferred.
  • Previous Shelter operations experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working with homeless populations.

 

Work Environment

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment.  Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and ability to walk multiple flights of stairs carrying at least 25 lbs required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

COVID - 19 Protocol 

 

Per King County, we require that everyone wear and mask while at any Mission facility (unless eating or drinking), practice social distancing, and temperature checks are required prior to entering any facility.


Per Governor Inslee's Proclamation 21-14.1, employees at Seattle Union Gospel Mission for the following locations: KentHope, Hope Place, and Dental must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical or religious exemption is approved.
