MIND Research Institute is looking for a Social Impact Development Director with experience developing new philanthropic partnerships to accomplish this! This role will work closely with the grants team and school partnerships team to strategize and execute plans to increase our pipeline of prospective partners and ultimately build new philanthropic partnerships to support MINDs mission.

The Social Impact Development Director will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, proposing, and negotiating partnerships with corporations, family foundations and individual donors within existing and new industry verticals. They will be the first point of contact between MIND and future strategic partners so they must have or develop a deep knowledge of: the value of MIND as an organization; ST Math as an innovative, neuroscience and evidence-based program; our vision of the future of education where equity is at its core; and the impact that our strategic partnerships have on students, schools, families and communities.

This position reports to the EVP/Executive Director of Social Impact and will be an integral part of a small team that is collectively responsible for a growing portfolio currently worth approximately $8M in annual grants. To be successful, they need to be extremely self-driven, intentionally collaborative, highly organized, and an excellent listener.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Generate ample opportunities through their own networks that will convert to $1M+ in new annual grants.
• Conduct their own and leverage existing research on potential partners, industries, causes, and grant opportunities that align with our mission, products, and programs.
• Conduct their own and leverage existing research activities on state and federal education landscapes, including funding, policy issues, initiatives, and grant/RFP opportunities.
• Work closely with all team members to ensure historical context is understood before outreach is planned.
• Work with the Director of Impact Advancement to tailor messaging and strategy to specific opportunities and then manage and plan outreach activities.
• Manage all sales data from prospecting to won in Salesforce and provide peers and team leaders with accurate pipeline reporting.
• Collaborate with team members across the organization on activities that will lead to high donor retention and potential growth.

To accomplish the above, you probably have/are:

• 10+ years of related work experience
• Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships
• Experience managing projects with tangible results and within tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on listening skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Extremely team-oriented, transparent in your approach
• Able to work independently and to prioritize your own activities with little direction
• Thick skinned but thoughtful. Youre not afraid of trying new things and making mistakes, but you do your homework first
• Authentic and always ready to learn

MIND Research Institute is based in beautiful southern California (Irvine), but this role can be performed anywhere in the United States, as long as you don't mind turning on your webcam to build a rapport, even from a distance.
