Job Summary
Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) seeks an organized and enthusiastic Communications Coordinator with excellent multi-tasking and analytical abilities to support AIUSAs Public Affairs Unit on a project-based schedule. The Communications Coordinator aspires to grow into a Project Manager role and will ensure that communications/multimedia projects that are time-sensitive issues are prioritized, that ongoing work is on deadline, and the full Public Affairs Team is abreast of internal and external developments. The Communications Coordinator is the PA teams primary air traffic controller and will enhance and improve coordination within the Public Affairs and among the department and teams across the organization. This position may be across confidential and sensitive matters and must meet them professionally.
Responsibilities

Uplift and center AIUSAs Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessiblity (IDEA) priniciples in their work and the Public Affairs team efforts.

Project Coordination (80%)

Coordinating department calendar of events, activities, and hiring process with Human Resources, including interns, and managing the mechanics of the budgetary and master planning process.

Monitors the Public Affairs budget; processes invoices for payment and expense reports

Manages or supports communication with vendors and partners on behalf of the organization and the Public Affairs department.

Keeps abreast of current and ongoing advances in digital technology tools, industry-related events, and innovations in information dissemination, social media planning, and Project management

Administrative Support w/in Departmental and Organizational Coordination (20%)

Creates processes and systems to support collaboration among units in the department and across the organization. May include and is not limited to Project Management software and other internal communications tools.

Maintains Public Affairs departments files and supports content organization in AIUSAs DAM.

Coordinates the Public Affairs departments calendar, team schedule, and other engagements. Prepares written communications as needed for such engagements

Coordinating department calendar of events, activities, and hiring process with Human Resources, including interns, and managing the mechanics of the budgetary and master planning process.

Produces and submits expense reports for the National Director of Public Affairs (expenses include monthly expenses incurred by NDPA for Public Affairs expenses, such web hosting).
