The Kansas City Business Banking Assistant will provide support to Commercial Loan and Treasury Services officers, as well as exceptional service to both internal and external customers. The Business Banking Assistant acts as a liason between Officers, the loan and deposit operations staff, Business Service Specialists and commercial banking customers.


An Business Banking Assistant's responsibilities include:

  • Promotes Core Bank's relationship banking culture through ongoing internal and external customer contact.
  • Provides administrative support to the commercial loan and treasury officers including reviewing documents, scanning financial and other documents to the loan files, and ordering credit, title and UCC searches.
  • Answers customer inquiries concerning loan and account information.
  • Handles customers issues and escalates issues to supervisor as needed.
  • Assists officers in clearing loan and deposit exceptions.
  • Works cooperatively with Loan Administration and Business Service Specialists to insure all documentation is accurate and received in time for closings/meetings.
  • Assists in maintaining commercial loans, as appropriate, including contacting customers to meet requirements and deadlines or handle administrative concerns.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures
  • Prepares marketing materials for prospect and client meetings
  • Backs up the front desk as needed to greet and direct customers, vendors, etc.
  • Act as a back up to the office manager for purposes of light teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and cashier's checks.
  • Conduct necessary dual control activities with Officer Manager
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years business banking experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software applications
  • Strong working knowledge of banking regulations, lending policy and documentation requirements
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to communicate tactfully with bank customers in handling issues of a relatively complex nature.
