Buchart Horn, Inc. is seeking a experienced Civil Engineer, who is highly efficient at reviewing drainage plans, to join our Memphis, TN team. The primary focus will be to review drainage plans for compliance.


  • Perform drainage plan reviews (This work will be performed in an outside office)
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge in the use, and application of current technologies, design techniques, procedures, regulations, materials, and specifications
  • Support the project manager with proposal development, work plan development, coordination of multi-discipline projects, monitoring or schedules and budgets, attendance of project client and team meetings to assist with coordination and development of project requirements
  • Conduct field surveys and substantial completion audits
  • Process shop drawings, edit specifications, and create charts and schedules
  • Perform QA/QC procedures and administer quality control procedures throughout project development
  • Assist with technical solutions to construction problems
  • Perform similar and related work assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or other Engineering discipline 
  • Licensed Professional Engineer highly preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 4 years of Engineering design experience with at least 2 years performing drainage designs
  • Experience in GIS and modeling preferred
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D and other drafting software
