Essential Functions:

• Responsible for leading, developing and monitoring the performance of the Payment Posting Department, which consists of managers, supervisors, team leads, payment posters, refund and credit balance specialists and an enrollment specialist in multiple locations.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities to streamline workflow, maximize efficiency and optimize technological advances.
• Continually monitors KPIs such as:
  • Average Days to Post
  • Refund and Credit Balances
  • Clarifications by Poster
• Assists with extracting daily reports and analyzing data to direct focus to appropriate areas of concern.
• Establishes and maintains adequate staffing levels to effectively manage production goals. Adjusts levels as necessary.
• Ensures proper training and system collateral are available for the over 35 software systems used by the Payment Posting staff.
• Maintains a detailed knowledge of state and federal regulations, documentation and billing requirements.
• Helps to review and evaluate Payment Posting policies and procedures and make suggestions for revisions and updating information.
• Manages team-building activities, projects and events
• Responsible for accuracy of payments being posted in Practice Management systems.
• Responsible for ensuring all clients month end financial balancing and invoicing process is completed within a timely matter. Company policy is to have all clients balanced and invoiced within the first three to five business days.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in payment posting, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.  
• Payment Posting experience must be with the healthcare industry.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Private Pay, Liability, and Workers Compensation requirements and procedures and diagnosis and medical terminology.
• Intermediate level of expertise with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with HIPAA, HITECH and patient confidentiality policies.
