Title: Industrial Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Department: Engineering

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Shift: 1st Shifts

Supervises: N/A

 

This position is responsible and accountable for all process improvements and associated cost reductions. This position is responsible for all time studies and keeping the integrity of the time study process.

 

Duties to include but not limited to:

 

  • Develop routings and methods to improve current processing and reduce costs.
  • Conduct time studies using the standard WKW system and feedback information to SAP
  • Execute project work associated with new product launch, quality control, tooling, samples and process development
  • Manage the formal cost reduction process with regard to continuous improvement and regular reporting / tracking
  • Produce, update & review plant layouts in CAD, optimize as necessary.
  • Optimize material flow, WIP using lean pricipals
  • Design efficient systems that integrate workers, information, machines, energy and materials to make products or provide services
  • Participate in problem solving and customer complain resolution using quality tools; including root cause analysis, design of experiment, FAI, PPAP, capability studies, etc.
  • Potential leadership role in lean, continuous improvement teams

 

Qualifications

Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • Functional G,D & T capabilit.
  • Lean manufacturing training or experience
  • Three or more years experience in automotive manufacturing facility.
  • Background in aluminum processing a plus
  • Demonstrated track record of process improvement and costs savings.
  • Experience with ISO9001 requirements.
  • Familiar with Quality Management System (QMS) for IATF requirements and Environmental Management System (EMS) for ISO 14001 (2015)

 

Computer Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite including MS Project
  • Ability to use CAD programs such as AutoCAD and 3D modeling programs

 

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Able to advise on effective measure to improve process
  • Must be able to troubleshoot the process to aggressively problem solve
  • Able to schedule necessary changes with minimal impact on production
  • Must be detail orientated

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience with an Associates degree
  • Any relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus

 

Work Environment:

  • Must be willing to work in a manufacturing environment and areas with ovens
