Position: Senior Accountant – Budgets & Reports

Location: Milpitas, CA (Admin)

Reports to: Controller

Employment Type: Regular Full Time, Exempt

Compensation: $85,000 to 95,000/Annual

 

Program Summary:

Immediately hiring an experienced Senior Accountant – Budgets & Reports to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the accounting senior will be responsible for managing the annual financial planning process, interim budgeting activities, monthly reporting and special projects. The position is available for a hybrid in-person/remote work schedule.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

· Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements.

· Analyze financial data to identify key trends and variances.

Budget Management

· Generate department level budget vs actual reports in a timely manner.

· Collaborate with program managers to monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and provide insights to assist in program and cost center decision making and management.

Planning

· Work with key stakeholders across the organization to develop annual financial plans.

· Manage and update the models used in this process.

Grant and Fund Management

· Work closely with the development team to provide financial analysis and modeling for grant proposals.

· Track and report on the financial status of grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

· Assist in the preparation of financial reports for grantors and donors.

Compliance

· Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

· Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement

· Identify and implement ongoing process improvements.

 

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

Strong analytic and problem solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed.

Advanced proficiency with Mircrosoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

Comfortable with financial transaction processing systems - knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge and Concur a plus.

Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles.

Experience in the non-profit sector a plus.

 

Other:

· Able to perform sedentary work

· Ability to use keyboard and read computer screens for extended periods

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Two years experience preparing financial reports and budgets.
