Description and Requirement

Maryland Auto Insurance seeks candidates to fill part time, contractual role in our Risk Management and Underwriting Internship Program. This is a part time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week for 10 weeks during the summer.  This position may be virtual.


The Underwriting intern will be provided with relevant skills in a variety of Risk Management and Underwriting functions via on-the-job training.


Job duties include:

  • Analyze business trends
  • Develop projections
  • Assist  with development of performance analysis
  • Assist in development of department report and dashboards
  • Complete special projects as needed


Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualified applicants will possess strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Proficiency in MS Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) is necessary as well as ability to maintain a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality.  Candidates majoring in Risk Management or Business Management are highly encouraged to apply.




This position does not supervise other employees. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with the core work hours being 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flextime may be available with prior supervisory approval.  This position may be virtual.
