About Powisset Farm

Powisset Farm in Dover, MA has a long history of agricultural enterprises, from a dairy farm many years ago, to Amelia Peabody’s legendary farm, famous for its breed stock of Hereford cattle and Yorkshire pigs. Many visitors remember fondly the glowing green pastures dotted with cattle and framed by beautiful barns.

Today, our farm is known for its strong CSA (community supported agriculture) operation that began in 2007 and is currently growing for 350 Summer CSA members (a combination of on-site pickup and drop-off location) and 100 Winter CSA members. By purchasing a share at Powisset Farm, CSA members help to create community around our farm and their commitment to locally grown produce. Our on-site farm stand is open to the public during the summer and fall, with a Trustees wide on-line store offering a wider variety of products for pickup on select days as well year-round.  In addition to these outlets, our farm donates produce to local hunger relief partners and serves as a base for our Mobile Market program in Boston, in order to make sure that our produce reaches as many people as possible.

At Powisset Farm we are committed to people to food and the land on which it grows. In addition to agricultural activities the farm is host to a wide variety of events and volunteer opportunities including farm tours, summer camp and educational programming. Our vibrant programming brings in thousands of visitors to the farm per year and is a busy and thriving center of community engagement.
