Job Title:                     Director of Digital Marketing

Summary:

This position leads the Symphony’s digital marketing strategy, including comprehensive planning and implementation of website content, social media content and advertising, email marketing, videography, blogging, and other new media marketing tools. 

                                              

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as the lead strategist and manager for digitally based marketing—work across the department and organization to ensure platforms are being optimally utilized
  • Uphold a standard for Symphony content, and determine the most effective ways to merge brand content with sales messaging via digital platforms
  • Supervise the Digital Marketing Manager responsible for website content management, including ticket and subscription sales
  • In conjunction with Digital Marketing Manager, work with the website vendors to ensure the web experience is aesthetically and functionally is optimized across platforms and audiences
  • Supervise the Digital Marketing Coordinator responsible for implementation of social media, email marketing, and other digital marketing duties as delegated
  • Lead the email marketing program for the Symphony. Create a strategic emailing schedule in collaboration with the Marketing Director and Development department
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure email-based communications are on brand, engaging, and deployed to appropriate audience segments
  • Manage strategy and partnership with digital advertising agency on paid social media and Google advertising. Includes Facebook, Instagram, Google Search, and others.
  • Oversee the Symphony’s social media content, including blogs and developing visual assets. Includes maintaining a daily content calendar, upholding a voice and visual guidelines, requesting and creating visual content such as videos and gifs, and managing online interactions with patrons and the public
  • Create and execute plans for video features to be used on the Symphony website, social media, and emails. Oversee logistics of both film and photo shoots. Serve as the primary liaison with video and photography contractors
  • With Digital Marketing Coordinator and Manager, track and report on analytics across platforms, and use findings to inform strateg
  • Oversee the public-facing online aspects of the Symphony’s livestream concert series
  • Work in-person and/or livestream concert duty (2-3 times per month, involving evening/weekend hours)
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus on marketing, digital media, or similar field of study
  • At least 7 years of experience within nonprofit marketing and/or public relations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills are a must
  • Experience with overseeing multiple employees and project management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media, email, and web platforms, including expertise in both paid and organic features of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as email providers, CMS platforms, and constituent databases
  • Experience managing video projects and production
  • Graphic design and video editing experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of social media and web analytics tools
  • Must demonstrate an ability to prioritize and work well under pressure, multi-task, remain highly organized, and exhibit attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and team-player approach
  • Experience in the arts preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
