Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP) is a private, non-profit social service agency that has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity and respect.

Men’s Transitional House (MTH) is an innovative, uniquely designed program to assist CSSD clients living with substance use, mental health, and/or homelessness. This program is compliant with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), specifically the Community Confinement Standards of this act. Applicants for this program may be subject to expanded criminal background checks and contact with prior institutional employers and may be required to comply with other requirements or screenings as needed.

HOURS: Sunday - Thursday 4pm 12am

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises Residential Monitors
  • Assists with orientation and training of new staff.
  • Relieves shift staff for breaks.
  • Supervises and monitors resident activities in compliance with program policies
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all utilizing appropriate de-escalation and behavior motivation techniques.
  • Ensures safety of clients and security of entire building by checking each floor as scheduled.
  • Answers phones, informs clients concerning available services and facilities, allows clients entry into building.
  • Assist in the direct care and supervision of clients to ensure safety and security; may provide transportation as programmatic needs dictate.
  • Serves as an advocate for all participants encouraging program participation and accountability.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years’ experience in the human services field. Associate degree in human/social/behavioral health services and two (2) years experience in related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with justice involved clients with substance abuse, mental health or other behavior issues also desirable.
  • Ability to interact with multi-cultural populations; crisis management skills; shares the belief that people can change and individuals in need deserve quality services and an opportunity for recovery.
  • Demonstrates trauma informed approaches and cultural responsiveness; models pro-social behavior.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed.
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) desired.
