As a Church Engagement Coordinator (CEC) you will assist in building relationships with churches and supports the growth and function of the Church Engagement (CE) team. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, be highly organized and have a friendly warm demeanor as they represent the Mission.




  • Represent the Mission to churches, staff, and donors.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude.
  • Lead the organization, coordination, and execution of CE events.
  • Regularly updates CE Reps on volunteer opportunities, GIK needs, and changes within the Mission.
  • Work with marketing on CE resources such as multi-media PowerPoint presentations, training/teaching materials, brochures, leave-behinds, event advertising, social media, CE web page, and other resources as assigned.
  • Coordinates with Churches and Mission departments on Mission Resources.
  • Help manage, schedule and coordinate the calendar of CE events.
  • Work with Marketing to make sure presentations, training materials, brochures, and other resources have current and accurate information.
  • Work with the CE team to develop a resource map and comprehensive plan to develop needed resources.  
  • Work with appropriate Mission staff to leverage Mission resources and expertise in support of local church partners, speaking opportunities, and other public engagement opportunities.
  • Manage event budgets and use GIK resources and other Mission resources to manage costs.
  • Assist with planning, execution, and evaluation of Church Engagement events.
  • Work with the Volunteer engagement team and other Mission teams to help coordinate church volunteers and volunteer groups.
  • Manages and is the main point of contact with CE email and hotline.
  • Works with Donor Relations and GIK to support and engage churches.
  • Help identify potential churches and key individuals for CE engagement.
  • Maintain CE database in Studio Enterprise.
  • Have a working knowledge of homelessness issues, Mission programs, initiatives, communications & messaging.  The CEC will regularly volunteer with our Outreach team, kitchen staff, Hope Place, Men’s Shelter/Riverton staff, GIK, and other Mission departments.
  • Attend and participate in all Mission, division, and department meetings and training, as required.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Four or more years of experience in event coordination or related field.
  • Church or other ministry experience is a plus. 

Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
