Job Summary

Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator (Temporary) will serve as the boots on the ground support for Thread’s volunteer recruitment activities for the Fall 2023 volunteer recruitment push. Recruitment Coordinators will conduct canvassing, tabling, literature distribution and other assigned tasks. Reporting to the Director of Partnerships & Recruitment, success will be measured based on the quality and quantity of volunteers recruited.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment

  • Attend Thread events and conduct tablings, canvassing, literature distribution

  • Recruits volunteer using a variety of resources and techniques.

  • Gathers information about each volunteer's skills, availability, and goals; matches volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on this data.

  • Set-up and break down of equipment for volunteer recruitment events.

  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Required: Minimum 1-3 years in relevant experience, recruitment, storytelling, sales, and/or relationship management

  • Required: Excellent written and oral communication, including public speaking & persuasion skills

  • Required: Must have access to reliable vehicle or access to mass transit and flexibility to work nights & weekends

  • Required: Experience developing and tracking projects, leveraging databases and software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • Required: Ability to clearly communicate and live out Thread’s core values & core competencies.

  • Preferred: Understanding of and access to varied organizational and individual networks in the Baltimore region

  • Preferred: Self-Management and Self Assurance assesses own skills and seeks development, opportunities; able to perform duties with minimal supervision

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree preferred
