Position Summary:

The purpose of the Helpdesk Technician is to assist all physicians and staff in carrying out necessary technical tasks by troubleshooting hardware & software and fielding questions by phone, e-mail and helpdesk software.  It is important that the Technician abides by HIPAA regulations, practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures where appropriate as this position may be exposed to a number of environmental hazards.

Essential Duties:

  1. Update helpdesk software
  2. Create user accounts
  3. Triage tickets submitted to the department
  4. Desktop and workstation setup and upgrades
  5. Orient new employees with appropriate hardware & software on their first day
  6. Train new employees as needed
  7. Projects as assigned by supervisor
  8. Travels to other sites as needed
  9.  Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Troubleshoot, analyze, and escalate problems
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  3. Ability to adapt in fast paced environment
  4. Ability to work well under pressure

Qualifications/Experience:

  1. Strong working knowledge of current versions of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Desktop Operating systems
  2. Credentials including Comptia A+ and/or Microsoft MCP/Windows, or AAS in Computer Sciences, preferred
  3. Hands-on experience with IT ticketing systems
  4. 2+ years experience in a helpdesk or networking position

Physical Requirements

  1. Able to lift 30-50 pounds
  2. Able to move and set up equipment on, under and around workstations
  3. Sit for prolonged periods
  4. Computer use
