The purpose of the Helpdesk Technician is to assist all physicians and staff in carrying out necessary technical tasks by troubleshooting hardware & software and fielding questions by phone, e-mail and helpdesk software. It is important that the Technician abides by HIPAA regulations, practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures where appropriate as this position may be exposed to a number of environmental hazards.
- Update helpdesk software
- Create user accounts
- Triage tickets submitted to the department
- Desktop and workstation setup and upgrades
- Orient new employees with appropriate hardware & software on their first day
- Train new employees as needed
- Projects as assigned by supervisor
- Travels to other sites as needed
- Other duties as assigned
