ROLE SUMMARY:
The Sr. Director, Clinical & Peer Support (SDCPS) provides administrative and programmatic leadership to achieve the strategic aims of HomeFirst’s Clinical & Peer Department. Under the guidance of the Chief Program Officer (CPO), the SDCPS will oversee Clinical Staff and the Trusted Response Urgent Support Team (TRUST), a 24/7 crisis response team. The SDCPS will also be tasked with creating and implementing a Peer Support team to complement our existing programming. The SDCPS will provide direction and oversight for all services assigned to the Clinical & Peer Support department.
The SDCPS will be responsible for directing clinical and peer support services in collaboration with other members of the services leadership team to support integrated services in our various programs. The SDCPS will oversee the quality of care within the department’s services, providing administrative supervision to ensure operational efficiencies and alignment with HomeFirst’s service philosophy. They will also be responsible for service reporting, including quality reporting, tracking, and audits.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties
- Oversee programmatic operations, including researching and implementing best practices and necessary programmatic upgrades.
- Work with the CPO to oversee budget items related to assigned programs and assist in developing yearly budgets.
- Ensure best practices in compliance, contract reporting, and data collection for assigned programs and contracts.
- Collaborate with the agency's Quality Control department to generate regular data reports and meet contract requirements.
- Recruit, evaluate, and train personnel, supporting their professional growth and that of their teams.
- Provides regular 1:1 check-in with direct reports, as well as conducts department huddles
- Advocates with Administration for clinical training and professional equipment needs of individual clinical providers and the corporate staff to ensure that quality services are provided to Program clients.
Program Oversight
Clinical
- Oversee a team of clinicians, providing administrative oversight and ensuring their integration within our housing programs.
- Collaborate with the contracted clinical expert who provides professional supervision and guidance to the clinicians.
TRUST
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Trusted Response Urgent Support Team (TRUST), a 24/7 crisis response team.
- Work closely with existing TRUST leadership, including two Program Managers, to ensure effective team operations and service delivery.
- Collaborate with partner agencies, such as Pacific Clinics, Momentum, and Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services, to enhance coordination and integration of services within the county.
- Monitor the performance and outcomes of the TRUST team, implementing improvements as needed to meet the needs of clients and the community.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the TRUST team to promote high-quality, person-centered crisis response services.
Peer Support
- Develop and design the Peer Support Programming from the ground up in collaboration with the Chief Program Officer (CPO) and other senior leaders.
- Create a detailed outline and structure for the Peer Support component of the Department, ensuring compliance with the agency's existing policies and regulatory measures.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Peer Support Programming, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes.
- Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in peer support to ensure the department remains innovative and effective.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health best practices and proven capability in integrating clinical and/or peer support services across various programs
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience in quality control and compliance.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of recruiting, training, and developing staff.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate seamlessly with other departments and members of the leadership team to align goals and initiatives.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
Personal Attributes:
