Job Description

The position of AV Networking Engineer will involve designing, engineering, and executing computer network systems for
AV. This position will also support and assist with lighting and rigging networking as well when it is necessary. This person
reports to the Director of Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs system administration duties for the IT infrastructure used in Audio, Visual, and Lightning networks for all Clearwing Systems Integration offices. Systems include, but are not limited to, IPTV, IP audio distribution, SNMP monitoring and quality assurance, and Intercom. Monitors network performance, installs and tests network upgrades, manages network security, and maintains addressing schemes. Identifies sources of IT problems that affect AV system performance and provide technical expertise to provide solutions.
  • Works closely with the AV and the IT Departments to ensure that audiovisual systems function correctly. Provides technical expertise in the field of Audio/Visual, and Lighting systems, encompassing all related disciplines such as operational system support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation. Minimizes loss of service by rapidly identifying and implementing alternative methods of service provision. Provide AV commissioning assistance when needed by Clearwing AV teams.
  • Installs, repairs, tests, and troubleshoots networked A/V/L equipment as needed in order to keep systems functional. Provides on-site troubleshooting, as required, and involves manufacturers' service options as applicable. Coordinates, and manages, the repair of equipment with internal and external service personnel and authorized manufacturer service centers. Develop and document VLAN assignments, IP addressing schemes, and define services for network assets. Identify and document device/service dependencies.
  • Provide support to the Sales team as necessary, providing technical support and insight to specific products' capabilities and limitations. Develop networking topologies during the design/engineering phase to assist in greater functional design. Assists in the development of companywide A/V/L Networking Standards.



Skill/Experience Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of AV systems and AV IT infrastructure
  • Ability to read and understand construction style documentation
  • Experience with reviewing bid documents
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized

Physical Working Conditions

  • Ability to life up to 50 lbs.
  • Work at heights on ladders, lifts and stage grids
