Description

Nashoba Learning Group (NLG) is hiring and is looking for motivated candidates for the Staffing and Allocations Assistant position.

 

What is Nashoba Learning Group?
NLG was founded in 2002 to offer a different life trajectory for individuals with autism and their families. Our organization uses evidence-based teaching procedures, delivered by highly trained and supervised teaching staff, and customized for each individual in partnership with their family. Today NLG is able to provide outstanding, individualized education, training, and intervention services for over 170 individuals aged three to adult, who are from over 60 communities across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. NLG strives to enable individuals to achieve their potential and become productive members of society throughout their lives.


Position Summary:
A staff member in the Staffing and Allocation Assistant position main function is to support the administrative needs of the organization. This includes, but is not limited to the creation of the daily schedule and a variety of different types of data entry.
Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Reporting to work between the hours of 7:00 am-3:00 pm
  • Using Schedule Builder to complete the daily schedule
  • Updating/adjusting the schedule throughout the day, as needed
  • Monitoring staff training on caseload/students
  • Ensuring that employee training is moving forward at a steady rate
  • Ensuring that each student gets the correct number of the training block
  • Updating staff roles in Scheduler Builder once training is complete
  • Monitoring staff prep allocations
  • Ensuring that Clinical Staff prep is tracked appropriately and recorded
  • Ensuring the Lead Prep is tracked appropriately and recorded
  • Working with the Staffing and Allocation Coordinator to ensure that all internal, staff morale activities are completed on a regular basis
  • Inputting scheduling items (both isolated and reoccurring) it Schedule Builder
  • Inputting data into the behavior database to meet new behavioral regulations
  • Coordinating restraint record-keeping with Clinical Staff and DESE
  • Managing cubby assignments
  • Assisting therapist staff with managing student behavior, when necessary
  • Covering Teaching staff lunch breaks when needed.
  • Covering Reception Desks when needed

 

Qualifications

A Staffing and Allocation Assistant staff needs to have:

  • At least two references that will attest to the Program Support’s interpersonal skills, energy, work ethic, their ability to work on a team, leadership skills, integrity, ability to multitask, ability to accept and learn from feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • The ability to physically perform all job duties, including safely restraining students in excess of 100 pounds up to 200 pounds, when necessary
  • Thorough knowledge/understanding of Microsoft Office
  •  Passed a background and CORI check. 
  • Attend training as assigned; maintain necessary certifications (CPR, First Aid, SOLVE, monthly training).
  •  Classes to obtain these qualifications will be provided by NLG. The SOLVE introduction course (16-20 hours) will be provided during Orientation and then a 1.5-hour refresher course will be held annually.

Supervision and Performance Assessment:
A. Nashoba Learning Group adheres to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in its management of employees as well as in its teaching of children. Performance requirements are clearly specified, performance is measured frequently, feedback is given immediately and mastery of particular skills allows access to higher-level skills. Reinforcement, in the form of pay, professional development opportunities and recognition is tied to performance.
B. The Staffing and Allocation Assistant position will be evaluated by the Staffing and Allocation Coordinator on general performance, cooperation, teamwork, reliability, and adherence to policies and procedures annually.
a. While formal evaluation will be given annually, feedback will be given throughout the year.
b. From the annual review, the Staffing and Allocation Assistant will be reinforced for good performance and develop an action plan with the reviewer to enhance low performance. A follow-up assessment will be scheduled based on that plan. The purpose of assessment and feedback is to assist the Staffing and Allocation Assistant staff in continuously improving their performance. It is expected that performance will improve over time. It is also expected that there will always be opportunities to learn and grow.
