The SEM (Search Engine Marketing) Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing and managing campaign strategies, and presenting these strategic recommendations to management.  This position is responsible for executing campaigns as well as working with internal teams. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: 

Campaign Execution: 

  • Drive the execution of paid search/social campaigns, including, but not limited to Google AdWords and Bing Ads; responsible for all outcomes 

  • Track and report on campaign results, data analysis and participate in weekly briefings 

  • Responsible for all tactical execution and campaign audit 

  • Ensure deliverables are met on time and on budget 

  • Evaluate campaigns daily for performance and optimization 

  • Monitor and optimize placements, keywords, bids, budgets, engagement, and other key metrics. 

  • Analyze and report campaign data in order to track effectiveness 

  • Actively work with internal teams to ensure campaign success based on KPls 

  • Develop keyword builds and provide volume estimates 

  • Ensure all accounts pace according to budget and goals (ROAS and % of profit) 

  • Implement successful bidding strategies and effective keyword management. 

  • Continually monitor, revise, and optimize ad text and placement as necessary. Work with Marketing team on campaign and promotional copy. 

  • Work with Marketing team to execute landing page tests. 

  • Work with Google representatives on various accounts to apply recommendations as deemed necessary. 


SEO/Data Feeds 

  • Review and analyze company sites for areas that can be improved and optimized 

  • Prepare detailed strategy reports 

  • Identify powerful keywords to drive the most valuable search traffic 

  • Using best practices, optimize the product data feeds using GoDataFeed in order to increase product discoverability within Google and Bing Shopping.  

  • Work with Marketing team to configure sales, and promotions, and keyword strategies. 

  • Test title tags and meta descriptions. 

  • Advise marketing team on effective SEO content for blogs, websites and social media accounts 

  • Develop link building strategies 

  • Analyze keywords and SEO techniques used by competitors 

  • Keep updated on best practice and algorithm changes to stay within search engine guidelines 

  • Compile and present SEO guidelines as part of internal strategy  

  • Performs other job duties as assigned



  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work autonomously while simultaneously collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. 

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and analytical thinking, with clear and proven organizational skills 

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while delivering flawless work 

  • Must be able to dig deep into data to find insights, problems, and opportunities. 

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred. (Business, Marketing, Economics, or Finance a plus) 

  • Google Analytics and AdWords certification required (Bing is a plus) 

  • 1-3 years experience managing paid search or display campaigns in a corporate or agency setting with variable budgets 

  • Experience working with bid management platforms 

  • Experience with Conversion Rate Optimization 

  • High-level of comfort with Google Analytics 

  • Advanced excel knowledge required 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills 

  • Experience managing multiple high priority projects simultaneously 

  • Copywriting experience preferred 

  • SEM/SEO experience 

  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced environment 

  • Ability to improve current processes & define new structure
