Basic Function: Manages and directs all aspects of the capital campaign.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directs key staff and volunteers on campaign assignments, schedule, and functions
  • Assists the Chairs of the Executive Campaign Committee (ECC) and Campaign Steering Committee (CSC) in preparing for and conducting meetings related to the campaign
  • Assists committee members and non-committee volunteers in setting agendas and making appointments with assigned prospects
  • Prepares for and supports all the activities related to the committees, making sure meetings are well planned and include adventure and celebration
  • Operates systems for managing the prospect and planning data
  • Oversees design and preparation of materials, events, and recognition programs
  • Exercises considerable judgment and discretion in negotiations and contracts with vendors for events and meetings
  • Highly values and effectively executes the thanking process as commitments are made and pledges are received
  • Prepares reports including but not limited to monthly production reports, potential gifts, gifts solicited but not committed, and total amount committed toward goal; projecting strategies for various gift levels and timeframes; monthly updates of the campaign timetable; draft reports for the Board of Directors
  • Works directly with campaign counsel, The Focus Group, for guidance and recommendations on all aspects of the campaign
  • Directs the campaign marketing and cultivation and solicitation of prospects at all levels
  • Trains staff and volunteers on all aspects of their responsibilities relating to the campaign
  • Plans, creates, and oversees a communication strategy including but not limited to a monthly insiders’ newsletter; periodic campaign newsletter; email and social media
  • Sets strategies and approaches for top prospects
  • Oversees preparation of draft proposals for foundations and corporations
  • Prepares written strategies on all prospects for gifts of $25K or more
  • Oversees the budget pertaining to campaign counsel, The Focus Group
  • Plans, prepares, and executes the procurement of new donors and new donor prospects
  • Travels as needed, up to 30% of the time
  • Performs office cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedule
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field or five or more years related experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with EE is preferred
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and donor relations
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills; ability to produce professional reports and correspondences free of grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards; acute attention to detail
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and workflow with versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

  • Works closely with the Chief Operating Officer’s (COO) office, CEO’s office, Development Coordinator, and various members of the Board of Directors
  • Willing and able to cooperate with the leadership and policies of EE
  • Relates well and communicates clearly with all EE staff and ministry contacts

FLSA: This position works out of the Arden, NC headquarters and is full-time, exempt, salary, Monday – Friday with flexible office hours.
