Position Summary

The Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Affairs team is looking for an energetic intern to assist with general projects and responsibilities.  This position will also help with volunteer database management, tracking of vendors, board placements and awards as well as provide logistical support for event, team-building and general community relations projects. Any additional time will be spent supporting United Way of Greater Atlanta Corporate Relations Team. The location of this position is divided between a corporate partner location in Dunwoody and our downtown United Way of Greater Atlanta office. 


  • Manage fulfillment of sponsorships (logos, ads, PSA)

  • Logistics and support for Corporate Partner-hosted community events

  • Tracking of event volunteerism, board placements, training sessions and awards/recognitions

  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure projects are delivered on-time and in budget.

  • Communication with nonprofit partners to set up volunteer projects

  • Creating and managing events on our volunteer tracking platform

  • Communications and logistics with company-wide blood drives and miscellaneous events on-campus


  • Junior or Senior undergraduate (sophomores may be considered if appropriate criteria is met)

  • Strong interest in Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Relations, Sustainability and/or Public Affairs

  • Candidate must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) as well as database input and management

  • Strong computer knowledge and organizational skills

  • Must have a positive/ambitious attitude


The United Way of Greater Atlanta (UWGA) internship program is a one semester, paid program designed to give college students an opportunity to complement their formal education with career-related experience.

United Way of Greater Atlanta supports internship programs that provide growth and learning opportunities to students pursuing their undergraduate and graduate degrees.

To qualify as a student intern, students must meet one of the four following enrollment criteria:

  • The student is currently enrolled as a full-time student as defined by the school, organization, or institution.
    • The student must provide proof of enrollment upon hire.
    • Proof of continued enrollment must be provided each semester during the regular school year.
  • The student has been accepted into an educational institution which meets the above requirement, when between institutions (e.g., from high school to college).
