We are excited to open a new position in our human resources department here at Pawnee. This position will primarily focus on recruiting new staff and improving employee morale and engagement. You will be joining an existing team and working directly under the HR Director. As this is a new position, the expectations and duties will have some fluidity as we determine the best use of the individual talents within our HR team. Someone who enjoys a challenge and wants to grow as an HR professional would be an ideal fit. Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage and maintain full hiring cycle within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • Coordinate employee hiring including managing applicant data base, screening and distribution of candidates and facilitating the process as needed to promote satisfaction. Discuss strategy for filling hard to fill positions with Human Resources Director and implement plan as requested.
  • Facilitate timely and positive contact with all applicants to the agency and perform prescreening and candidate sourcing in assistance and cooperation with our hiring managers throughout a 10 county region.
  • Complete reference and other background checks on prospective employees in a timely manner. Report results to Human Resource Director.
  • Process monthly driver’s license checks on designated staff.  Report potential problems to HR Director.
  • Make photocopies, send faxes and perform other clerical functions.
  • Process payroll at least quarterly to ensure ability to perform competently in emergency circumstances.
  • Assist Human Resources Director with various research and/or special projects.
  • Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related specifically to position or to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials or participation in training events as approved by supervisor.
  • Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
  • Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.

    Other Job Functions:
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:     High School diploma or equivalent preferred and a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in human resources.  Related post secondary education and experience with human resource information systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point strongly preferred. Must be organized with excellent communication skills and a customer service focus. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality are a must.

Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language required.

Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
