Purpose of the Position:

Under the supervision of the Director of Research, the Research Assistant will provide research assistance, program assistance, and administrative support to Fortune’s Participant Wellness Checks project. The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly affected Fortune participants and how Fortune conducts our work. In response to participants’ evolving needs, Fortune launched our Participant Wellness Checks project. The Research Assistant will conduct wellness questionnaires with current and recent Fortune participants to see how they are doing and to engage/re-engage participants in Fortune’s services. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for entering data into Fortune’s data management systems, as well as performing quality control. A successful candidate will have a strong interest in data management and study coordination, as well as strong organization and communication skills.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

- Recruit study participants;

- Conduct surveys;

- Manage research databases;

- Perform quality control;

- Coordinate participant internal referrals;

- Work closely with development to track grant deliverables;

- Synthesize findings and prepare visual presentations of data;

- Help draft text for reports and public-facing documents;

- Plan and coordinate meetings.



- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in social work, public health, psychology, or related field is preferred;

- 1-2 years relevant work experience preferred;

- Prior research experience is preferred;

- Ability to work well on your own and be self-directed, but also keep supervisor updated and share information with a team;

- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication;

- Approaches work with attention to detail;

- Experience using Microsoft Office programs and database management systems; and

- Ambition to learn, develop research skills, and seek out increased responsibilities.
