Special Projects & Process Improvement Coordinator



A Special Projects & Process Improvement Coordinator is expected to assist in development and QA for high priority strategic planning and special projects initiatives across Shift4 Payments, working directly with department leaders to help transform and improve departments through automation, work-flow efficiency, optimization, tools, reporting and more.



  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute key value creation (top and bottom line) and integration/transformation initiatives
  • Clearly scope and track projects, develop and assign workstreams, identify critical path to maintain progress, and ensure reliable delivery
  • Creatively obtain and vet data, develop and execute quantitative analyses with (potentially incomplete) data, cross-check results to identify potential inconsistencies or limitations
  • Craft polished written communications and deliver oral communications of findings and recommendations in an effective and efficient manner
  • Collaborate positively with project stakeholders to secure support and implement recommendations in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify critical elements within projects and assist the organization in  prioritizing and managing a portfolio of projects across the enterprise
  • Support other corporate strategy responsibilities as needed
  • Create and maintain tools, reporting and automation processes
  • Acquire a strong knowledge of the existing tools and automated workflow processes in use, including how each tool operates and what potential conflicts can occur when new processes are introduced
  • Maintain current and future reporting for departments
  • Becoming accustomed to JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, SQL, C#, VBA, and Google Apps Script (emphasis Google Apps Scripts)

  • Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to simply communicate complex workflow or code issues to the Manager/Director of Special Projects
  • BIG Data Analysis, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Problem Structuring, BenchMarking
  • Enthusiastic personality with a can-do attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Resourceful and motivated to learn
  • Understanding HTML, JavaScript or Google Script is a BIG plus but not required






Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience is preferred 
  • 2 Years of Experience at Shift4 Payments / Financial Services Industry / Project Management
  • Knowledge of current support workflow processes
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite & Google Drive, with an emphasis on Excel / Sheets
  • 2+ years of computer technology experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with Google Scripts, Google Bots, Javascript, or HTML is beneficial
  • Must be comfortable on the phone and in-person for meetings, be proficient in MS-Office and be willing to do what
