POSITION: Special Education Resource Room Teacher

SALARY: $DOE, per hour

REPORTS TO: Principal

LOCATION: PSIS, Omak, WA 

Basic Functions: The Incumbent of this position is responsible for maintaining the learning environment on a daily basis. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

  • Must posses a current valid Washington State Teach Certificate, with Special Education endorsement.
  • Must provide (3) written professional references with application.
  • Must provide Transcripts/ proof of degree upon application.
  • Must posses or obtain within (30) working days First Aid/ CPR card, and maintain throughout employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be knowledgeable in the instruction of the State Common Core Standards that is relevant to the content area taught.
  • Must be knowledgeable in standard based instruction and grading.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents and general public.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards 
  • Ability to plan and supervise the activities of an instruction teacher aid.
  • Ability to plan, direct and teach an individualized instruction program.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

 TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

 If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
