Description

CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories has openings for AP/CP pathologists at one of our Spokane locations.

At this time, we are especially interested candidates with leadership and admin experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent general anatomic and clinical pathology skills along with medical directorship experience and an ability to practice independently. Fellowship training in general Surgical pathology preferred. Dermatopathology or Hematopathology subspecialties also looked favorably on if paired with general sign-out experience. 

New graduates with strong subspecialty fellowship training are encouraged to apply while preference will be given to those with several years general sign-out experience and/or clinical lab medical directorship experience. AP/CP board certification/eligibility are required.

CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories is a dynamic, rapidly growing private pathology company headquartered in Seattle, WA, in the heart of the Puget Sound region. Our locations are largely concentrated in the Puget Sound area, with sites in Eastern Washington and Alaska. We are one of the largest privately held pathology groups in the country, yet we retain a strong focus on local relationships and service. We serve over 20 hospitals from large tertiary care institutions to small community hospitals, as well as specialty clinics and private physician practices. Our 65+ pathologists evaluate and/or supervise over 230,000 surgical accessions, 15,000 non-gynecologic specimens including 5,000+ fine needle aspirates and more than 150,000 Pap smears per year. Our pathologists have a broad range of sub-specialty expertise, making collaboration an integral part of case sign-out.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must meet Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska state licensing requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent general anatomic and clinical pathology skills required

  • Medical directorship experience preferred

  • Ability to practice independently

  • Fellowship training in general Surgical pathology preferred. Dermatopathology or Hematopathology subspecialties also looked favorably on if paired with general sign-out experience. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Pathologist with general or sub-specialty training from an accredited program.
  • Must be board certified AP/CP with experience in hospital based pathology
  • Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
  • Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization
  • Personal adaptability and ability to lead change.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Prolonged sitting
  2. Computer use
  3. Must be able to perform significant periods of diagnostic work thru visual inspection using a microscope
  4. Must be able to fully utilize a microscope using hands and eyes
  5. Must be able to stand at table for autopsy up to 2 hours
