What are we looking for in a Mental Health Worker / Case Manager?
Mental Health Worker / Case Managers provide care, support, and a safe living environment for individuals residing within our 24-hour inpatient and residential facilities. Mental Health Worker / Case Managers provide supportive counseling and skills development through individual or group sessions to assist clients with stabilizing symptoms and learning illness management skills. This position is part of an interdisciplinary team that provides individualized, trauma-informed treatment in collaboration with the client’s natural support systems to help ensure a smooth transition to community outpatient treatment. This role is best suited to someone who communicates effectively, remaining supportive and empathetic during challenging situations, and who values teamwork and collaboration in working toward the goal of improving the lives of the individuals we serve. A general understanding of behavioral health issues is helpful for this position. We have positions available at several of our inpatient units in Yakima:

  • Selah E&T is a sixteen bed facility that serves adults who require inpatient treatment due to an emotional crisis or change in function due to a mental illness. The program provides evaluation, stabilization, and brief treatment for men and women age 18 and older. An integrated, multidisciplinary team of professionals provides individualized treatment and coordinates a comprehensive discharge plan that emphasizes community resources and family support. Schedule (2 positions): Tuesday-Saturday 11pm-7:30am OR Friday-Tuesday 11pm-7:30am 
  • Bridges is a sixteen bed facility that serves adults who require inpatient treatment due to an emotional crisis or change in function due to a mental illness. The program provides evaluation, stabilization, and brief treatment for men and women age 18 and older. An integrated, multidisciplinary team of professionals provides individualized treatment and coordinates a comprehensive discharge plan that emphasizes community resources and family support. Schedule (4 positions): Tuesday-Saturday 3pm-11:30pm OR Thursday-Monday 3pm-11:30pm OR Tuesday-Saturday 11pm-7am OR Friday-Tuesday 11pm-7:30am
  • Gleed Orchard Manor is a twenty-nine bed facility that serves adult residents with medical and/or psychiatric conditions that have caused impairments in activities of daily living, communication, cognitive abilities, and/or social functioning. Goals of the program include maintaining control over psychiatric symptoms and adaptive behaviors; increasing personal care, social skills, and practical living skills; and creating a safe environment for the recovery process. Schedule (2 positions): Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm & Saturday 8am-4:30pm OR Sunday-Thursday 4pm-12:30am 
  • Competency Restoration Program is a twenty-four bed secure residential treatment program that serves male adults who have, due to a mental illness, been deemed by the court to be unable to aid and assist in court proceedings regarding current pending criminal charges. The goal of this program is to offer residents treatment and educational opportunities in order to prepare them to be able to fully aid and assist in their own defense. Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team with an emphasis on collaboration, and the program uses trauma-informed evidence-based practices that have been proven effective for education and treatment. Schedule (5 positions): Wednesday-Saturday 11am-10pm OR Thursday-Sunday 11am-10pm OR Saturday-Tuesday 11am-10pm OR Sunday-Wednesday 9pm-8am OR Monday-Thursday 9pm-8am 
  • Two Rivers Landing is a state of the art, short-term residential place of healing for youth aged 11-17 who are in crisis. The program provides crisis stabilization, evaluation, and treatment for up to sixteen youth and utilizes an established trauma-informed, evidence-based model of care. An integrated team of professionals provides individualized care and a comprehensive discharge plan that emphasizes community resources and family support. Schedule (2 positions): Friday-Tuesday 3pm-11pm OR Thursday-Monday 11pm-7am

Mental Health Worker / Case Manager duties may include:

  • developing and conducting social & leisure activities for clients 
  • facilitating educational, behavioral health, or skill-building groups 
  • coaching clients in practical living skills such as nutrition, budgeting, and other independent living activities
  • accompanying clients to appointments, community events, and outings 
  • providing daily oversight of medication self-administration and monitoring symptoms & medication response
  • maintaining a safe and clean environment, which may vary from general housekeeping to deep cleaning depending on assigned facility
  • completing required documentation that reflects the activities, goals, and progress of each client

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
