We are currently hiring a Project Manager – Project Management and Regional Partnerships to collaborate with our economic development allies at all levels to attract and grow businesses and jobs across industries.  This role will work directly with internal Project Management team members by generating and pursuing leads, working with partners, managing corporate site selection processes, interacting with the other MAC teams and departments and supporting departmental marketing and other initiatives. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Generates leads by cultivating relationships with relocation consultants and real estate brokers, attending economic development focus conferences, conducting consultant marketing trips, and working with local economic development entities (e.g. Georgia Power, Georgia Department of Economic Development). Works with other MAC target industry units to maximize the use of information and expertise. Keeps management leads data bases current. Maintains confidentiality of leads and respective projects.

 

  • Secures new businesses by responding to requests for information (RFI), arranging for marketing trips and site visits, and facilitating deal closings through the creation of comprehensive final proposals encompassing real estate solutions, demonstration of availability of talent, infrastructure and competitive incentives, among the most critical factors. Successful pursuit processes require leveraging relationships with economic development allies, local and state government as appropriate and the Chamber member network.   Maintains confidentiality of leads and respective projects.

 

  • Contributes to Chamber marketing and other initiatives by planning and carrying out business development missions, help coorinate economic development lunch and learns, secure funding and coordinate partner events, compiling reports, and working with the Communications staff to arrange for media announcements and opportunities to be quoted.

 

  • Build a network of economic development partners at the state and local level as well as real estate brokers and site location consultants and other related service providers inside and outside of Metro Atlanta.

 

  • Learn about Metro Atlanta to be able to answer questions from businesses and their consultants evaluating new or expanded operations in our region.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economic development, public administration, marketing or a related field.  Advanced degree desirable but not required.
  • Three or more years’ experience in economic development or in positions requiring business recruitment and development, corporate relocation assistance and project management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of economic development and the industry focus areas in the Chamber.
  • Strong network of local, state and national site consultants, private and public sector contacts.
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude. Analytical, self-starter, team player. Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to establish priorities, multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively. Comfortable with public speaking opportunities.
  • Hands on knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Ability to use advanced internet research skills.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, verify and present information.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Availability for weekend, early morning, and evening meetings and appointments.
  • Availability to travel up to 30% of time.
