We are searching for a motivated Accounting Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. They can expect to assist the accounting department by performing clerical tasks including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports, fielding communications with clients and vendors, fact-checking, filing and other duties, as needed. You must be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills.
To be a successful Accounting Assistant, you should understand basic accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as MS Excel. You should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to:
  • Providing support to the Accounting Department and other departments as needed
  • Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail, doing bank deposits, receptionist, etc.
  • Handling communications with clients and vendors
  • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, credit card payments etc.
  • Maintaining fixed assets spreadsheet
  • Month end duties and bank, AP and AR reconciliations
  • Full cycle Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (point person AR collections activity)
  • New vendor and customer set up in accounting system ACCPAC
  • Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills
  • Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles
  • Professional manner and a strong ethical code
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
  • Commitment to working efficiently
  • Must be skilled in use of Excel spreadsheet and good working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook, MS word, Concur etc.
  • Must have excellent work ethics which include a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done
  • Associate degree in related field with work experience
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Microsoft Office 365 – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Epicor (ERP) preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Physical Demand(s):  Can lift 25 lbs., sitting and stand for reasonable periods of time
  • Visual Demand(s): Ability to look at a computer monitor for reasonable periods of time
  • Hazard(s): Office setting within a manufacturing environment
