Description

Purpose of the Position: Assists with general aspects of the HR function and serves as an available advisor in Human Resources.  Works closely with the Manager of Human Resources to ensure that HR programs are developed, explained and accurately implemented, specifically with company benefit programs and payroll.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

    • Maintains HRIS entries encompassing all employment data related to new hires, position changes, terminations, deductions, garnishments and wage changes.  Prepares customized reports by selecting, analyzing and summarizing internal HR data
    • Advises floor management of attendance and timecard policies and expectations
    • Conducts benefits education and leads enrollment process for health, dental, vision, life, short- & long-term disability, FMLA, LOA, and work comp.  Ensures compliance within all areas and researches additional benefit opportunities
    • Responsible for FMLA and LOA files maintenance and tracking
    • Maintain Corrective Action spreadsheet
    • Recommends improvement, ensures implementation and continuously monitors compliance of company policies
    • Processes employment verifications and unemployment claims in a timely manner
    • Notifies internal departments of employee status updates such as new hires, transfers or terminations
    • Ensures all new hire paperwork is completed and in legal compliance
    • Leads employee recognition and company’s health & wellness programs
    • New Hire Orientation and Graduation scheduled, prepare certificates, and order food
    • Maintains all company’s Personnel files to ensure compliance with all documentation
    • Initiate and review background checks and drug screening
    • Paycom Workforce Management-Job postings, Screenings, Interview Process, and Hiring
    • Maintain Human Resource Directory

 

 

 

    • Maintain Organizational Chart
    • Assist Human Resource Manager as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or Business Administration.  PHR certification preferred

 

Skills &Abilities:

 

  • A minimum of 3 -5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in various facets of personnel administration, payroll laws, employee benefits, ERISA and related local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Paycom (recruiting and on-boarding modules), HireRight, and SharePoint payroll and recruitment systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple priorities with superior organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication / presentation skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills used in developing strong working relationships and effective listening skills.
  • Ability to professionally represent the company in all levels and interface with all levels of employees.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive and confidential environment.

 

 

 Physical Requirements:

 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time
