The Government Sales Manager is responsible for the development of specific sales activities across the Federal business sectors as outlined by the Director of Government Sales. This position will focus on federal and government contracts for solutions across the entire product portfolio, with a particular focus on healthcare simulation.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy plan to generate, develop, and close sales opportunities with a focus on Federal Government accounts
  • Achieve quarterly sales targets and product mix targets
  • Proficiency in presenting EMS products and solutions
  • Qualify and close sales opportunities
  • Field initial prospect calls
  • Research markets and sales opportunities
  • Assist in sales proposal development and strategic capture management
  • Creating and deliver sales presentations
  • Maintain working relationships and a constant contact schedule with all customers
  • Create and maintain sales status of all prospects and clients
  • Maintain current account, contact and opportunity history in CRM
  • Performs other duties as required

 

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in trade shows as appropriate
  • Arrange and execute Demonstration Days at client sites
  • Assist in other promotional opportunities as developed
  • Work closely with all sales team members, marketing team and customer support team
  • Field customer complaints, funnel to appropriate resource, follow up to ensure they are resolved

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with Government contracting
  • Preferred focus in the Federal Government vertical market sector
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels
  • Good organizational skills; Teamwork and integrity
  • Self motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Excellent initiative, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, time and deadline conscious
  • Proven success in prospecting, qualifying and closing sales
  • Up to 50% travel required
  • Able to obtain a security clearance

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Government, DoD and Military contracts required
  • 10+ year sales experience with federal government required
  • Sales in software services background preferred
  • CRM experience required
