RailPros provides comprehensive consulting services for the rail industry.  We specialize in areas of RWIC/railroad flagging, project management, observation and inspection, real estate, rail design and engineering, training, and media production.  As a leader in our industry, RailPros’ projects create long-term value for our clients from concept through operation by providing technical excellence and outstanding services.  We are seeking a Senior Engineer/Technical Lead Engineer with an emphasis of Rail Design/Engineering.

Our Senior Engineer will lead all technical engineering aspects of projects, production of deliverables, subconsultants, and contracts.


Primary Duties:


  • Lead the technical engineering team to meet client and stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead technical engineering efforts and assist project design/program management to meet the schedule, budget, and scope – RailPros team and subconsultants.
  • Assist Project Managers to manage cost and schedule data, reports, and scope changes.
  • Assist Project Managers to manage contract task orders, change orders, expiration dates, budgets and expenditures.
  • Assist in technical aspects of business development efforts.
  • Coordinate and lead technical project meetings and assist the project manager in the follow up process/resolutions.
  • Lead training efforts and skills building of technical design team.



Required Qualifications:


  • Design, Management and Leadership technical experience.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with technical staff, clients, peers, management, and subconsultants to successfully meet shifting needs.
  • Technical background in design, engineering for transportation/civil infrastructure projects.
  • Expert in CAD and rail design software, MicroStation and Inroads/InRail.
  • Expert in application of Rail Design Practice and industry Standards.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of experience in the engineering industry for Rail.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 programs and applications.
  •  OpenRail proficiency and production experience.
