Summary

SUMMARY:

The General Ledger Accountant will work with the Director of Finance (DOF) to perform month-end closing, financial reporting, and other projects as requested by partners and the executive team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Ledger

  • Assist in reviewing hotel AR ledgers and general ledger to prepare for month-end close.
  • Assist in preparing work papers for CPA annual review.
  • Assist in monthly bank reconciliations for all resort accounts.
  • Assist in reviewing, designing, and documenting internal accounting procedures and processes.
  • Prepare journal entries and ad-hoc financial reporting.

Accounts Payable

  • In charge of adding and updating vendor records, including securely handling EFT payment information.
  • Review vendor statements and notify the AP accountant of any issues or discrepancies.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with resort requirements (e.g., W9, insurance, lien releases).
  • Review vendor transactions and process 1099 NEC, MISC, and INT forms annually.

Payroll

  • Work with Assistant Controller and Director of Human Resources to process payroll bi-weekly.
  • Review payroll deductions and liabilities for accuracy.

Other

  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of Finance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or Business.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Over two years of payroll processing experience.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, comprehend and provide instructions, both written and verbal.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Computer skills required for communication and reporting.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel highly desired

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

  • Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment at Company ranges from wintertime lows of 30 degrees to summertime highs to 80+ degrees. While performing these duties the employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

GROOMING & UNIFORM:

Some positions will be required to wear uniforms. Uniforms are the property of Company. Uniforms that have been tampered or destroyed will be the responsibility of the employee and disciplinary action will apply.

  • Hair must be clean and kept at a reasonable length.
  • No extreme dying or bleaching of hair is permitted.
  • Fingernails must be clean and well-trimmed at all times.
  • Antiperspirant or deodorant must be worn.
  • Cologne or perfume may be worn at a minimum.
  • Nametags must always be worn, unless your department has a specific policy to the contrary.
