Unit:                           Bronx Pro Senior Housing Program

Reports to:                 Program Director

Status:                        Full Time; Regular; Non-Exempt

Location:                    Bronx, NY (may have to travel off-site as needed)

Days/Hours:               Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm; flexibility required

 

Position Summary:

The Fortune Society – Bronx Pro Senior Housing Program, in the Morrisania section of The Bronx, is a supportive housing program serving seniors ages 62 and over who have experienced homelessness and who have had experiences in the criminal justice system.  As part of the Mandela Community team, the Administrative Assistant supports the Program Director, AVP of Scattered Site Housing and other staff with the daily management of Bronx Pro operations as well as other various administrative duties as assigned.  The Administrative Assistant will also serve, in the Program Director’s absence, as liaison with our Bronx Pro Partners.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Program staff of The Mandela Community with daily operations as needed;
  • Manages calendar and schedule coordination for Program Director;
  • Monitors general mailbox emails during Program Director’s absence;
  • Keeps Program Director abreast of any major issues that arise in a timely manner;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED/HSE required. Some degree of higher education preferred;
  • Adept at Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner;

Travel Requirements: May require travel to our LIC location and other off-site locations as well.
