POSITION TITLE:               Outpatient Receptionist- Evening

DEPARTMENT:                   Administrative Offices & Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Services

REPORTS TO:                    Adult Outpatient Director

FLSA STATUS                    .65 PTE (26 hours per week), Non-Exempt, Union Position

COMPENSATION:              $15.05 per hour or $15.68 per hour bilingual differential



The Receptionist acts as the central point of communication for our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic; operates the main phone console, greet all callers and/or incoming visitors/clients, and performs routine administrative and personnel duties as assigned. We are looking for energetic, well-experienced bilingual Spanish/English speaking receptionist.



  • Monday- Thursday 12:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
  • Open/Close Office
  • Answer phones and direct callers courteously and appropriately
  • Accept deliveries, sort, mark “received” and distribute mail, packages and faxes immediately
  • Respond to requests from the Clinical staff and interns as appropriate
  • Register clients, enter data into computer programs (File Maker Pro)
  • Check messages on a daily basis, both telephone and email and distribute immediately
  • Maintain photocopy machine and keep it supplied with adequate paper
  • Keep Front Office space and Reception Area neat and clutter free
  • Serve as a back-up for the AM receptionist
  • Order and organize supplies for Outpatient Department
  • Handle data entry
  • Track Psychiatrist appointments, make reminder calls to clients daily
  • Perform special tasks as requested by Outpatient Administrator, Director of Behavioral Health, & Clinical Staff

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in behavioral health environment as a receptionist or intake personnel
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Knowledge of general office machines, telephone systems, fax machine, PDF operations, and other information systems.
  • Maintains a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information
  • Must exercise a high degree of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), File Maker Pro, & Google Drives

  • Valid California driver’s license
