Summary of Position

This individual has a pastoral heart for shepherding the church and a detail-oriented mind for implementing and overseeing systems.  This position assists in serving, leading, and shepherding the Summit Church in its mission. They are responsible for the Small Group ministry of The Summit Church and serve as the primary point of connection for Pastoral Care at the Capital Hills Campus.

• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail

• Self-motivated, humble, and strong desire to research and implement best practices 

• Strong ability to communicate the vision of small groups

• Strong people skills, ability to build multi-cultural relationships, and work well on a team

• Understands and embraces Summit’s small group discipleship model

• Spiritual maturity and history of disciple-making 

• Able to organize and run systems 

• A member of the Summit Church or willing & able to become a member

Responsibilities

• Implements the Small Groups Plan (ensures each Capital Hills small group understands and carries out Summit’s Small Groups Plan)

• Oversees recruitment of new small group leaders

  • Demonstrates vision for small group planting and multiplication; regularly evaluates applicants and identifies new leaders.

• Oversees the training of new/existing small group leaders and plants new small groups

  • Collaborates with Capital Hills staff and elders regarding training and SG conference

  • Plans and executes small group training 

  • Equips group leaders effectively

  • Strategically determines where, when, and how many small groups are needed

• Connects individuals to small groups effectively

  • Organizes GroupLink 

  • Determines the most efficient way place individuals into small groups

• Coaches campus small group coaches

  • Pairs elders with leaders

  • Grows a sustainable structure for the care of our leaders, and caring for leaders 

• Regularly assesses campus small group ministry

  • Evaluates the overall health of small groups

  • Determines small group needs 

  • Contributes to Small Group Curriculum as needed

• Attends monthly Central Support Small Groups meeting

• Pastoral Care

  • Creates structures of care to shepherd the members of the Capital Hills Campus

  • Is the primary point of contact for member-care

  • They do not need to be the person who provides the care but needs to ensure that it is provided
