Join our Cytology team at our new state of the art lab in Tukwilla - opening Spring 2020! 

Position Summary:

The cytotechnologist's chief responsibility is to screen slides and identify abnormal and cancerous cells. In order to comply with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requirements, cytotechnologists must complete the College of American Pathology (CAP) Proficiency Test annually with a score of 90% correct or higher. Flexible work hours are available to the cytotechnologist and can vary depending on workload. The cytotechnologist is responsible for adhering to HIPAA standards. Strict Standard Operating Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements should also be followed during time in the laboratory.

Approximate hours 1:00pm-9:30pm

Essential Duties:

  1. Screen pap and non-gynecological slides including verifying patient information, correlating clinical history, assigning & resulting the case
  2. Rescreen 5-year review cases
  3. Keeps a record of own daily workload
  4. Train new cytotechnologists
  5. Prioritize Thin Prep reject slides
  6. Identify and route high-risk cases for rescreening
  7. Perform backup assistance to lab assistants in obtaining FNA specimens
  8. Other duties as assigned


  1. Basic computer skills including proficiency with Office suite

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field
  2. Cytotechnologist certification by ASCP
  3. No experience required
  4. New Graduates welcomed
