The Jacksonville Aviation Authority welcomes applications for the Accounting Manager position through midnight on Wednesday, May 24, 2022.

This is professional work which involves complex programming, configuration, support and maintenance of the Jacksonville Aviation Authoritys (JAA) Network and VOIP telephony systems. The work requires knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and optimizing all related hardware, software and communication links. Contacts with others require courtesy, tact and effectiveness in dealing with others to request or provide information, ask questions or obtain clarification. The work is performed in an office environment and requires field work at customer remote sites. After hours and on-call rotation work is required. The work is performed under limited supervision where work assignments are subject to established procedures, practices, methods, techniques, standards and/or well-defined policies. The worker plans and organizes the work, determines their own priorities and the work is reviewed, usually after the fact, in terms of quality, volume, timeliness and for adherence to established methods, standards and policies.

Essential Functions

• Manages all network firewall and VOIP hardware, software and equipment, including routers, switches hubs, voice gateways, desktop phones and VPSs.
• Makes necessary changes to corporate phone system. Ensures network connectivity of all workstations and other technology end points.
• Recommends, schedules and performs network and VOIP improvements, upgrades and repairs.
• Monitors and tests network and VOIP performance.
• Provides network performance statistics and reports.
• Responds to network and service incidents per the terms of service level agreements (SLA).
• Recommends network and VOIP designs that best meet JAA system needs.
• Monitors and reports on system availability; implements improvements when necessary.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of ITIL v.3
• Advanced technical knowledge of current hardware, software protocols and standards; including Cisco switching, Cisco 10S, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Advanced technical knowledge of Cisco routing and switching on Cisco Nexus data center equipment, including fabric extenders, fabric interconnects, virtual devise contexts, virtual port channels, overlays transport virtualization and other Nexus specific technologies.
• Advance proficiency in routing protocols, including EIRP and BGP.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ability to be on-call (and respond within 20 mins,) at least 2 weeks per month.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and
• Seven (7) years of related work experience or
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Preferred Education & Experience

• Experience in an ITIL v. 3 environment

Licenses & Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E drivers license.

Physical Demands

The physical demands consist of moving from one work location to another, sitting or standing at a workstation for extended periods of time and may involve lifting objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
