Status:                        Full Time; Regular; Non-Exempt

Location:                    Long Island City, NY 11101

Days/Hours:               Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm with one day per week 11:30am – 7:30pm.  Subject to change depending on program needs

Position Summary:

The Family Services Case Manager aims to increase awareness on the importance of fathers in the lives of their children; while strengthening family bonds. The counselor is responsible for engaging non-custodial fathers in our Fatherhood program, though case management and parenting groups.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct program intake and assessment
  • Perform general case management duties, including bi-weekly individual sessions with clients, referrals to community based services, developing client schedules, and comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Assist clients in identifying and prioritizing needs;
  • Facilitate evidence based parenting groups
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in multiple databases
  • Assist in planning and participate in events and activities for clients and their children, held both off -site and on-site.
  • Participate in case conferences for optimum collaboration among departments/programs and external agencies
  • Attend and participate in scheduled staff activities, meetings and trainings
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
  • Experience in case management, assessment, and counseling preferred;
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus;
  • Strong verbal and writing skills required
  • Experience working with fathers and individuals who have criminal justice involvement
  • Excellent time management skills and detail oriented
  • Competence using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) in a professional environment
