Electrical Engineer

Essential functions

  • Design and development of new aerospace and/or commercial electro-mechanical products including project management and qualification activities.
  • Form and participate in design teams based on APQP processes to bring new products to the marketplace.
  • Oversees existing products in order to enhance the design and at the same time recommend cost reductions that will benefit both company and customer, thus reducing lead times.
  • Assists in costing and quoting of new products including tooling.
  • Prepares production drawings and submittal drawings in CAD.
  • Develop and maintain BOM’s, routers, ATP’s and other supplier data requirements list (SDRL) documents.
  • Assists the Sales Department with customer-related concerns. Technical support for sales/marketing.
  • Assists Quality Assurance and Purchasing Departments in the evaluation of new or existing suppliers.
  • Assists Production personnel with prototypes and quality concerns.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Skills and EXperience
  • Professional work experience reviewing and analyzing prototypes and product modifications
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
  • Knowledge of the Quality Management System policies, goals and objectives after training.  Assist with systems based on Lean principles and practices to meet or exceed the requirements of the established QMS and all other standards required to serve our target markets.
    • Experience with commercial and military aerospace design/development processes.
    • Familiarity with MIL specifications as they apply to aerospace product specific requirements.
    • Familiarity with switches, transducers and electro-magnetic components.
    • Intermediate to expert level background using AutoDesk Inventor (CAD) software.
    • Proven high level of problem-solving skill. Familiarity with various RCCA tools (e.g. 8-D, A3, etc.)
    • Project management experience preferred.
