The IT Systems Administrator will use their skillset to provide prompt and accurate technical support for enterprise applications, servers, and networks including hardware appliances and domain infrastructure. They will primarily assist with monitoring systems, appliances, and networks and reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly systems and network reports. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the configuration, implementation, and administration of Microsoft Active Directory domain infrastructure
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining systems’ baselines and configuration standards
  • Perform day-to-day server hardware, operating system, and application maintenance functions, including security patching and configuration management under the direction of senior IT staff members
  • At the beginning of each work day, communicate with senior IT staff members regarding the goals of the previous day and week, as well as the current day and week, and any accomplishments or challenges
  • Keep appropriate team members informed of the results of the daily discussion mentioned above to ensure accurate and up-to-date communication among team members
  • Monitor and ensure successful data backup and restore functions of all enterprise systems
  • Act as the point of contact for documenting, troubleshooting, and remediating discovered server or application anomalies
  • Diagnose systems tickets accurately via phone, remote tools, and on location
  • Perform tasks associated with help desk tickets for both systems and desktop support issues
  • Update all assigned tickets that have not been updated in the past three days, ensuring the appropriate ticket owner is informed
  • Follow-up with involved parties to research and update any “unknown-status” tickets
  • Perform tasks as an individual contributor and as part of a project team
  • Work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high quality of service
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 implementation and administration duties
  • Expertise with Google Apps and understanding the concepts of enterprise email
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory concepts, including group policy objects
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Networking (Juniper and FortiGate preferred)
  • Simple Splunk alert, dashboard, and report creation
  • Advanced knowledge of server and systems monitoring and management tools and software
  • Virtualization experience, including deploying development VM’s from templates, as well as troubleshooting virtual systems – VMware, ESXi Server a plus
  • Cloud experience, including Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS, SES, etc) and Azure.
  • Anti-Virus policy skills with both ESET NOD32, and Kaspersky within the Shift4 infrastructure
  • Experience with MSSQL (administration, scripting) a plus
  • Surveillance applications, analog and IP cameras, and DVRs a plus
  • Familiarity with the concepts of VOIP and associated technologies (Avaya preferred)
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot simple server- or access-related issues with Desktop Support team
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office products, including Visio, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Flexibility in a dynamically changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times along with the ability to properly handle sensitive materials concerning the organization
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Personnel management experience a plus

 

Additonal Qualifications:

  • The ability to lift and move up to 50lbs

 

Education:

  • Minimum of two completed years of higher education and/or trade school with a focus on IT
  • At least three years in the IT field
  • CompTIA A+, NET+, Security+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or equivalent experience
