POSITION SCOPE
The Senior Marketing Specialist will assist the Marketing Director to implement strategic marketing and publicity plans for AMP products across our core content areas: humor, inspiration, poetry, and puzzles and games.
This position works within a cross-functional team, which includes sales, editorial, and digital products, to assist with strategy development and marketing planning and implementation for brands, creators, and products.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute lead publicity campaigns for approximately ten titles a season. Publicity campaign includes, but not limited to:
- Writing compelling press releases, pitch letters and emails, and other materials
- Generating insightful and effective Marketing Briefs
- Managing media mailings of books, materials, and catalogs, online and in print
- Researching and compiling targeted media lists
- Working with designers to develop effective materials for media and creators
- Media relations (cultivating contacts in traditional and digital media)
- Coordinating author events and managing travel
- Consumer product positioning
- Creative strategy and tactics for implementation
- Creator relations
- Assist with marketing needs assessment, marketing planning and project management
- Help develop content strategy around core content areas
- Coordinate across AMU divisions to promote interdepartmental products and brands
- Author original content and curate sourced content for blogs, websites, and digital platforms
- Manage external resources (bloggers) for digital marketing platforms, blogs, websites
- Conduct research, interpret data, analyze results and otherwise assist in the development of the digital marketing strategy for AMU creators/brands
- Determine strategy and execute email marketing plans
- Ad hoc projects as requested
