Human Resources Business Partner

Lakewood Health System has an opening for a Full-Time Human Resources Business Partner. 

The HR business partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

Employee Relations

  1. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  2. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  3. Conducts employee relations investigations, consulting with the department leader, and VP of HR.
  4. Assists leaders with designing and implementing retention strategies.
  5. Maintains job descriptions, ensures they are up-to-date, works with leaders to develop job descriptions for new positions.
  6. Completes Peer Interview Training as needed.
  7. Keeps current on laws / regulations that pertain to hiring practices.
  8. Assists within department as requested by VP of HR.

Talent Acquisition

  1. Works with managers to develops recruitment strategies to achieve required staffing levels.
  2. Develops and maintains professional relationships with college, university and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants.
  3. Develops and maintains student tracking and recognition system to build talent pipeline.
  4. Schedules and attends job/career fairs with appropriate staff to generate qualified applicants.
  5. Provides information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants.
  6. Develops and conducts training programs for managers with a goal of improving recruiting and hiring efficiencies.
  7. Maintains records on recruiting activities as required.
  8. Participates in development of annual recruiting budget.

Benefits Coordination

  1. Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  2. Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  3. Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  4. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  5. Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  6. Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  7. Participates on benefits committee and in benefits design.
  8. Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  9. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  10. Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  11. Coordinates the open enrollment process.
  12. Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
  13. Manages the 401(k) annual catch-up contribution enrollments.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred, or knowledge of human resources programs gained through work experience in human resources areas; 3-5 years experience minimum.
  2. Certification in HRCI, SHRM or CHHR preferred.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels within the organization.
  5. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  6. Capability of effective planning and priority setting, ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  7. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and other applicable software programs.

This is a full-time exempt position, working 72 hours per pay period with the ability to work remotely from time to time.
