Job Summary:

 

The IT Support Specialist will provide day-to-day technical support and customer service to the corporate employees at Flaherty & Collins Properties. The IT Support Specialist serves as the primary contact for all IT related matters and supports the implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance productivity in the effective use of computer technology. This position will work in conjunction with the third-party Helpdesk to maximize efficiency, reduce IT expenses and improve the overall IT experience for employees of Flaherty & Collins Properties.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Offer daily operations and systems support to employees
  • Assist employees with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software
  • Deploy workstations, printers, scanners, and other technical systems to the corporate office
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network connection issues
  • Assist with corporate network and security audits
  • Analyze system performance
  • Work with third-party vendors to install, maintain and troubleshoot software as needed
  • Order computer equipment, configuring and distributing to new hires
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure IT products and services
  • Setting up and supporting smart devices
  • Manage user accounts including Active Directory and Office 365
  • Video Conference room equipment support and meeting support
  • Provide printer and peripheral device support
  • Coordinate IT training as required
  • Conduct research on industry trends and emerging products, services, protocols, and standards and provide recommendations to department heads and senior management
  • Ensure best practices are adhered to regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of education, including but not limited to new systems, technology and networking
  • Assist in creating and implementing various IT policies and procedures
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for third-party technology service
  • Maintain records, serial numbers, warranty information, and status of all servers, computers, laptops, tablets, and networking equipment owned by Flaherty & Collins Properties
  • Responsible for ordering new or replacement equipment and coordinating installations
  • Coordinates printer/copier contracts, equipment, and lease negotiations and is the primary contact for repairs and troubleshooting
  • Ensures billing is accurate and approves invoices for various IT services
  • Manage agreements with outside vendors and review annually for best pricing
  • Assist in creating and managing corporate IT budget
  • Manage Helpdesk to reduce third-party IT expenses
  • Manage users, accounts and access to file sharing system (Box) and assist in troubleshooting
  • Assist in organizing folders and file management
  • Perform other duties and projects as required
Qualifications

Experience/Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems Management or other related field and/or 3+ years of equivalent experience
  • A+ certification or other industry standard certification a plus
  • Microsoft Certified Associate preferred
  • 3+ years of IT technical support or service desk experience
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • A wide understanding of hardware, software, networking, mobile technology, and security systems
  • Knowledge of advanced server operating systems, desktop operating systems, and desktop applications
  • Have used and/or supported cloud applications and hosting environments
  • Troubleshooting skills on PC, iPhone/iPad, and other smart devices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office products, and LAN/WAN networks
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with data management
  • Hands on experience supporting medium to large sized corporate IT systems
