Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for acquiring mid-tier and large commercial deposits, with ancillary referrals of business loans, merchant services and sales of other treasury management products. Working with the Commercial Lending Relationship Manager’s to grow and expand existing commercial client relationships. This position will also be responsible for assisting with paperwork for on-boarding new clients as well as implementation of treasury product services. Must demonstrate a clear understanding and deep technical knowledge of 1SB’s full product suite with a focus on depository and treasury management products and services. Must be comfortable with in person and over the phone calls to clients, be able to handle client issues in a professional and timely manner, and should be able to help facilitate cross selling opportunities. All while ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Identify, analyze and sell to mid-tier and large commercial deposit prospects
  • Support the Treasury Team with sales and sales related appointments and activities, such as analysis reviews, client visits, bank training sessions, courier service, document signing etc.
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with the Bank’s Core Values, and provide the Banks’ customers with exceptional service in accordance with the Bank’s customer service standards
  • Support the Bank’s Sales culture and recognize cross-selling opportunities for Bank products and services; and continually reinforce the Bank’s sales culture with staff
  • Collaborate with Special Services team with mutual clients’ and assist with the on-boarding of products and services
  • Assist RMs on in-person prospect/customer calls in furtherance of the global relationship, while providing deposit functionality for the customer and/or their businesses
  • Provide direct assistance to the Business Lending Branch portfolio of customers via telephone, in person, and at the customers’ place of business with the implementation and set-up of treasury management services
  • Assisting with transfers, check orders, account maintenance, and other servicing needs for commercial clients
  • Must demonstrate a clear understanding and deep technical knowledge of 1SB’s full product suite with a focus on depository and treasury management products and services
  • Educate and train treasury management customers in the risks and requirements of treasury management services
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize job responsibilities as required while maintaining organization
  • Participates in community affairs and business/service organizations, as approved by Treasury Management Officer
  • Maintains a knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
  • Refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person and verifies, as needed-referring to the SLA organization chart, following the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved.
  • Assumes responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management, audits and other personnel.
  • Meets Bi-weekly with Treasury Management Officer for status updates.
  • Assists the Business Lending Branch team in back office audit and compliance tasks to stay in compliant with the Bank and FDIC standards.
  • Supports management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner and represents the Bank with a high level of integrity.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of bank policies and procedures
  • Be able to attend outside of regular work hours events, as a representative of the Bank, for commercial client events; when needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in business, marketing or finance preferred or equivalent work experience of 5 to 10 years of banking experience in a sales position.
  • Proven success in establishing new business relationships and consistently achieving production goals.
  • Demonstrably very well-organized as to time management, contact management, records management.
  • Ability to demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that pertain to this position; must be able to keep up to date on regulation changes.
  • Knowledge of key bank regulations, including, but not limited to, Know Your Customer, the Bank Secrecy Act, and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures and related programs.
  • Must be bondable.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.
