Description

The Director - Store Planning & Design (DSPD) will be accountable for providing assistance to Regional Manager Business Development (RMBD’s) and Regional Business Developers (RBD’s) with store planning and design.  They will be coaching and training on store design and equipment as well as providing professional detailed layout drawings, equipment quotes and specification sheets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Business Development team in their assigned areas with potential retailers requiring store planning, design and equipment
  • Work with BD team to identify store needs and provide them with equipment, POS, and technology solutions
  • Provide detailed store plans and equipment schedule for retailers
  • Provide equipment quotes and specifications sheets in a professional package for layouts and drawings
  • Assist BD team with equipment quotes as requested
  • Work with the BD team to develop & maintain relationships with large chains, engineers, & buyers of equipment
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and drawing standards
  • Accountable for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of floorplans
  • Leads store design related strategic initiatives and ensures cross-functional alignment is achieved
  • Protects each brand's design integrity by determining clear guidelines, standards and criteria for layouts
  • Implements a successful communication process that informs the Store Planning and Project Management departments of design directives and changes
  • Responsible to develop a Vision and Long-Range Plan (LRP) in conjunction with Vice President of Project Management. Maintain a strategic approach including development and implementation of innovative processes to improve consistency, effectiveness & efficiencies. Establish and manage KPIs to drive business success and achieve LRP
  • Lead teams in the development of “high quality” and “cost effective” scope and planning solutions thru all phases of the development process
  • Create processes to ensure the best practices of people and project management
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of Store Planning, Design, and AutoCAD
  • College degree preferred
  • CAD certification preferred
  • Competence in design methodology, process, and process
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently 95% of time, with no supervision.
  • High integrity and strong work ethic Focused on customer needs first
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all types of people from owners to hourly employees for business results
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects coupled with experience in working with fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Flexibility to work shift differential hours
  • Technological skill sets to include use of AutoQuotes, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, Web-X, Join.Me and other software as required
  • A positive attitude!
  • Persistent in nature. Follow-up is a must!
  • Ability to manage time and schedule effectively

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is typically performed in normal office working conditions; however, the job may require meetings at a construction site
  • Travel Requirement: 25-50%
