Description

SUMMARY: Applies accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of financial and business transaction data, and prepares reports to ensure accurate accounting records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Prepares information for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial presentations.
  • Downloads and reconciles transactions to general ledger.
  • Reconciles daily accounts to supporting documentation, researches and resolves outages.
  • Reconciles complex monthly accounts to supporting documentation; researches and resolves outages.
  • Regular reviews and reconciliations of lending based accounting.
  • Prepares assigned audit and regulatory schedules and reports.
  • Handles problem calls and e-mails and supports accounting staff.
  • Prepares monthly closing entries as assigned. 
  • Cross train on other accounting functions.
  • Reviews GLs related to loan accounting to ensure proper entries have been made.
  • Provides custom reports to Accounting and other departments using Monarch.
  • Provides preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Provides assistance in the monthly closing and research process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and at least three years accounting experience preferably in the banking industry.
  • Basic knowledge of all applicable regulations that pertain to this position is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (V look ups, pivot tables).
